Since it was established, the Swiss Society of Molecular Pathology (SSMP) has consistently evolved to meet the challenges of molecular diagnostics and precision medicine and has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of molecular pathology in Switzerland and beyond. Founded with a vision of integrating cutting-edge molecular techniques into clinical practice, the SSMP has helped to shape healthcare in Switzerland.

Key activities include undertaking and validating the training of Molecular Pathologists, the introduction of advanced molecular diagnostics protocols, expansion of training programs, and collaborations at national and international levels.

Governance and Committees

The SSMP is a sub-section of the Swiss Society of Pathology. The responsibility for training of molecular pathologists and the development of this sub-speciality is delegated from the Swiss Society of Pathology to the SSMP. Day to day direction of the society as well as strategic direction and initiatives is undertaken by its steering committee.
