Swiss Molecular Pathology Training School 2026

The Swiss Molecular Pathology Training School 2026 is an intensive two-day educational program designed for pathology residents and future molecular pathologists in Switzerland who want to build a strong, practice-oriented foundation in modern molecular diagnostics.
Hosted at the Institute of Pathology, University Hospital Basel, this course brings together national experts in molecular pathology to cover the full spectrum of contemporary tumor diagnostics — from PCR and NGS to liquid biopsy, fusion analysis, HRD, variant interpretation, and tumor-specific molecular workflows.
This training school is specifically tailored for:
- Residents in Pathology preparing for the FMH title
- Residents pursuing the “Schwerpunkt / Formation approfondie in Molecular Pathology”
- FMH-certified pathologists wishing to strengthen or update their molecular pathology expertise
Through a combination of expert lectures, case-based sessions and hands-on group work, participants will gain practical insight into how molecular pathology is applied in daily diagnostic workflows and tumor boards across multiple cancer types.
